Every Section workshop you complete earns you a Credly badge. Completing the right combination of workshops earns you a certificate. This article covers eligibility, badge delivery, and how badges roll up into a certificate.
How to earn your badge
To earn your workshop badge, you need to complete and submit the reflection survey at the end of the session. The survey is hosted in Typeform, and there are two ways you'll receive it:
- The workshop moderator will share a QR code on screen
- Section Support will share a link directly in the Zoom chat
Open the survey on your phone or computer and submit your responses.
Note: If you missed the link or code during the workshop, email Section Support and we'll send it to you directly.
When your badge arrives
Workshop badges are issued every Tuesday, the week following the workshop. If your workshop ended on a Wednesday, your badge arrives the following Tuesday — six days later. Same pattern for any other weekday.
The badge comes from Credly, not from Section. Look for an email from admin@credly.com.
How to accept your badge in Credly
Section uses Credly to issue and store all workshop badges. Credly is a third-party platform, which means your badge lives in your Credly account permanently — separate from your Section Coach account. How you accept it depends on whether you already have a Credly account:
- First Section badge: You'll receive an acceptance email from Credly the Tuesday after your workshop. Click the link, create your free account, and your badge appears in your dashboard.
- Existing Credly account: Credly recognizes your email and adds the new badge to your dashboard. Click the link in the acceptance email, sign in, and accept.
Once accepted, you can return to your Credly account anytime to view, manage, or share any badge you've earned.
The difference between badges and certificates
A badge is awarded for each individual workshop you complete — one workshop, one badge. A certificate is awarded when you complete a specific combination of workshops that make up a certificate program.
Section currently offers two certificate programs:
- AI Proficiency Certificate — earned by completing the AI Crash Course (required), one functional course (such as AI for Marketers or AI for Sales), and one skills course (such as AI for Writing or AI for Data Analysis). See the AI Proficiency Certificate article for the full course list.
- AI Expert Certificate — earned by completing Integrating AI into Team Workflows and Building a Business Case for AI Initiatives (both required), plus either Building a Custom GPT or Building Agents with Microsoft Copilot Studio. See the AI Expert Certificate article for the full course list.
Once you've earned all the required badges, the certificate is issued to your Credly account immediately. Enterprise accounts with custom certificates follow the same process.
How to share your badge or certificate
Once your badge or certificate is in your Credly account, you can share it on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, or your email signature, download a PDF version to print, or embed it on a personal website. For step-by-step instructions, follow this link to Credly's help center.
What to do if your badge hasn't arrived
If it's been more than a week since your workshop and your badge still isn't there, go through these checks in order:
- Confirm you submitted the Typeform reflection at the end of the workshop. The badge process only starts after we receive it.
- Credly emails sometimes land in spam or junk — check those folders for a message from
admin@credly.com. - Give it until end-of-day Tuesday the week after your workshop ended. Badges go out in weekly batches.
If all three check out and your badge still hasn't arrived, email Section Support at help@sectionai.com with your account email and the workshop name.
