On-Demand courses earn you Credly badges the same way live workshops do — minus the wait. This article covers eligibility, timing, and how badges roll up into certificates.
How you become eligible for an on-demand badge
To earn an on-demand badge, two things have to happen:
- Complete at least 95% of the course content
- Submit the project from the activity packet
Once you submit the project, the badge is issued automatically. If your status still shows "In Progress" after you've completed everything, that's a known bug — contact Section Support and we'll sync your account.
The badge comes from Credly, not from Section. Look for an email from admin@credly.com.
The difference between badges and certificates
A badge is awarded for each individual on-demand course you complete — one course, one badge. A certificate is awarded when you complete a specific combination of courses that make up a certificate program.
Section currently offers two certificate programs:
- AI Proficiency Certificate — earned by completing the AI Crash Course (required), one functional course, and one skills course. On-demand versions of these courses count toward the certificate.
- AI Expert Certificate — earned by completing Integrating AI into Team Workflows and Building a Business Case for AI Initiatives, plus either Building a Custom GPT or Building Agents with Microsoft Copilot Studio. On-demand versions count toward this too.
You can mix and match — some courses live as workshops, others on-demand. Either way, the badges count toward the same certificate. Once you've earned all the required badges, the certificate is issued immediately.
How to share your badge or certificate
Once your badge or certificate is in your Credly account, you can:
- share it on LinkedIn, X, Facebook, or your email signature
- download a PDF version to print
- embed it on a personal website.

What to do if your badge hasn't arrived
If it's been more than 24 hours since you submitted your project, go through these checks in order:
- Credly emails sometimes land in spam or junk — check those folders for a message from
admin@credly.com. - Log in to Section Coach → On Demand tab → confirm the course shows as fully completed.
- If completion still shows "In Progress," contact Section Support — this is usually a sync bug we can resolve.
If completion looks right but the badge never arrived, email help@sectionai.com with your account email and the course name.
